Real Market Scenario

Naked POC Test

Trade first return to an untouched prior POC as a potential magnet and reaction zone.

A prior session POC was never revisited. Current day opens away from it and rotates toward that reference during late morning.

Scenario Thesis

Naked POCs attract price over time. First test often produces reaction, but continuation depends on whether the market accepts through that price and builds new value there.

Pre-Trade Checklist

  • List nearby naked POCs by date and distance from current open.
  • Rank confluence: alignment with VWAP, value edge, or prior highs/lows.
  • Plan A: responsive trade on first touch. Plan B: acceptance continuation through level.
  • Define maximum adverse excursion tolerated on first test.

Step-by-Step Analysis

Phase 1

Step 1 — Reference selection

Objective

Choose the right naked POC to trade, not every line on chart.

What to Observe

  • Age of naked POC (recent often stronger intraday).
  • Whether approach is impulsive or grinding.
  • Context: balancing day vs. trend day.

Trader Read

A clean, directional approach into a nearby naked POC often gives sharp first reaction. In strong trend context, reaction may be brief before continuation.

Execution Plan

  • Prioritize nearest high-quality naked POC with confluence.
  • Use smaller size if trend momentum opposes your responsive trade.
  • Avoid stacking multiple opinions at adjacent references.

Invalidation

If approach loses momentum before touch and rotates away, stand down; magnet effect may defer.

Phase 2

Step 2 — First-touch execution

Objective

Execute the reaction trade with clear structure and asymmetric risk.

What to Observe

  • Touch response speed (immediate rejection or absorption).
  • Delta/volume spike behavior at level.
  • Micro-structure: failed auction above/below POC.

Trader Read

A meaningful first-touch reaction shows quick counter-auction and inability to accept through level on first attempt.

Execution Plan

  • Enter responsive long/short on failed auction pattern at naked POC.
  • Place stop beyond local excess, not directly at POC.
  • Target return to nearest developing value extreme or VWAP.

Invalidation

If price accepts through naked POC with repeated closes, exit responsive trade immediately.

Phase 3

Step 3 — Acceptance vs. rejection follow-through

Objective

Transition from fade mindset to continuation mindset when auction changes.

What to Observe

  • Whether price builds time at/through naked POC.
  • Developing POC shift toward tested level.
  • Re-test behavior: hold above/below on pullback.

Trader Read

Rejection confirms responsive edge; acceptance turns the level from magnet into fair value pivot for continuation.

Execution Plan

  • On rejection: hold partial toward opposite side of intraday range.
  • On acceptance: flip bias and trade pullback continuation.
  • Document both outcomes to improve context recognition.

Invalidation

If market alternates around POC with no directional acceptance, reduce expectations and revert to scalping framework.

Post-Session Debrief

  • Did you treat naked POC as context, not certainty?
  • How was your execution quality at first touch (slippage, timing, stop placement)?
  • Did you flip bias fast enough when acceptance formed?
